Case Study 2
We partnered with students from a local high school. They wanted to create a water filter for their science class. They were scheduled to come over on a Saturday morning to work on the project.
My wife and I invited the students over for a bonfire the night before. It was a blast! We roasted marshmallows and talked till about 9:00 pm then it was time for them to go home.
The next day they showed up on time to work on their projects. So, then we asked where we could get activated carbon to create our water filters? We went back to the fire pit and pulled the charred wood from the fire then turned it into small pieces with a hammer. They had no idea that’s where carbon comes from. “Practical Education.” What if you don’t have a store? Are we smart enough to still get it done?
